I know you have all heard a lot about mindset and affirmations, all that woo-woo stuff. I am here to tell you, woo-woo or not, it works.
So here's a few points.
I will be the first to admit I am terrible about sitting down and writing out affirmations. Over the past couple of years, I have begun to listen to all sorts of coaches that talk about different ways to approach mindset. One thing many of them have in common is to say things out loud. So, knowing I am bad about sitting down and writing it out, I just say them. I know we are "supposed" to take quiet time for ourselves and all that jazz, but it just isn't how I operate, so saying these things out loud when I am driving in my car to do some other thing, it just works for me. And it does, it does work.
The other thing I have found for me personally, and this also being a common theme I have heard, is to forget the generic stuff. Stop with the "I receive all good things." Screw that. Tell the Universe EXACTLY what you want. It would be like walking onto a car lot and saying I want a car. Okay. What kind of car? a 1975 Pinto? or a 2024 Lamborghini? Not that I would ever drive a Lamborghini, but you get the idea. And when? When do you want it? Ten years from now? A week from now? I have learned it is very important to be specific in what and when you ask for something. I don't always get exactly what I asked for, but often times pretty darn close.
You could say it's a matter of having that mindset which puts you subconsciously into action to make these things happen. You could also say there is magic in the Universe. I believe it's a bit of both. There are too many things that happen that I just cannot contribute totally to one or the other. I believe it's actions but also the vibrations you put out there.
I want to share some examples with you. My husband always says it's just coincidence. I don't think so, it happens way too often. But you be the judge of what you think.
I asked the Universe for two bookings and planning fees within the week. At 10:30 that night, I received a call from someone in another state who I had never spoken to and he not only paid my substantial planning fee, but booked a $10,000 Disney vacation that night.
One early morning, I asked for $5,000 to drop in my lap within two weeks. I received two checks in the mail that day, one for $1,600 and another for over $4,000, totally unexpected.
I asked the Universe for 2 bookings in a week. That week I booked a trip to Destin and a trip to Hawaii. Both paid planning fees.
I could go on and on about how this always happens to me. What do you think? Are you doing affirmations? What kind of affirmations are you doing? What has your experience been? Do you need to get way more specific in what you ask for?
